Events

Maine Clean Communities engages with communities about electrification and alternative fuels in two primary ways: Ride and Drives and Tabling.

Ride and Drives

One of the biggest barriers to electric vehicle (EV) adoption is often a lack of firsthand experience. Ride and Drive events provide attendees the opportunity to test drive one or more EVs to learn more about the realities of EV ownership. This direct experience with electric vehicles and conversations with current EV owners, industry experts, and other prospective buyers help community members make more informed decisions. Topics range from vehicle performance, charging and maintenance costs to available incentives, and other practical considerations to help attendees decide if an EV is the right choice for them.

Tabling

At Maine Clean Communities, we regularly share information about programs, incentives, and initiatives that support the adoption of electric vehicles and other alternative fuels.

Community events, farmers markets, festivals, and similar gatherings provide valuable opportunities to connect directly with the public. These events allow us to share updates about our programs and projects while also learning about community interests, concerns, and transportation needs. By engaging in these conversations, we can better understand how people are most likely to adopt clean transportation solutions and ensure our outreach and programs are aligned with the communities we serve.
